وصیت نامه فریدون فروغی

تنها وصیت او این بود:

« بگویید بر گورم بنویسند:
زندگی را دوست داشت
ولی آن را نشناخت
مهربان بود
ولی مهر نورزید
طبیعت را دوست داشت
ولی از آن لذت نبرد
در آبگیر قلبش جنب و جوشی بود
ولی کسی بدان راه نیافت
در زندگی احساس تنهایی می نمود
ولی هرگز دل به کسی نداد
و خلاصه بنویسید:
زنده بودن را برای زندگی دوست داشت
نه زندگی را برای زنده بودن »

Fereidoun Foroughi's testament

His only testament was this

کابینت سنگین

Miss Green had a heavy cupboard in her bedroom. Last Sunday she said, 'I don't like this cupboard in my bedroom. The bedroom's very small, and the cupboard's very big. I'm going to put it in a bigger room.' But the cupboard was very heavy, and Miss Green was not very strong. She went to two of her neighbors and said, 'Please carry the cupboard for me.' Then she went and made some tea for them.

The two men carried the heavy cupboard out of Miss Green's bedroom and came to the stairs. One of them was in front of the cupboard, and the other was behind it. They pushed and pulled for a long time, and then they put the cupboard down.

'Well,' one of the men said to the other, 'we're never going to get this cupboard upstairs.'

'Upstairs?' the other man said. 'Aren't we taking it downstairs?'

  خانم گرین کابینت سنگینی در اتاق خوابش داشت. یکشنبه گذشته گفت:  

من کابینت اتاق داخل اتاق‌خوابم را دوست ندارم.  

اتاق خوابم خیلی کوچک و کابینت خیلی بزرگ. می‌خواهم این (کابینت)  

را دراتاق بزرگ‌تری قرار دهم. اما کابینت خیلی سنگین بود و خانم گرین  

خیلی قوی نبود.  

او پیش دو تا از همسایه‌هایش رفت و گفت: لطفا کابینت را برای من  

حمل کنید. بعد او رفت تا برای آن‌ها چای درست کند.

آن دو مرد آن کابینت سنگین را از اتاق‌خواب خانم گرین بیرون آورند و به  

 سوی پله‌ها رفتند.  

یکی از آن‌ها در جلوی کابینت بود، و دیگری در پشت کابینت.  

آن‌ها برای مدت طولانی (کابینت را) هل دادن و کشیدند، و سپس  

کابینت را  زمین گذاشتند.

یکی از مردها به دیگری گفت: خوب، ما که نمی‌توانیم کابینت را به بالای  

پله ها ببریم.

مرد دیگر گفت: بالای پله‌ها؟ مگر نمی‌خواهیم آن را پایین ببریم.
